Finding and applying for funding are most often intertwined steps in the grant process. Although you may have a general idea concerning your project, you may find that the funding opportunities available will lead you to expand, restrict or otherwise modify your original idea. The key to securing funding is to remain flexible and to find the best match that fits both your project goals and the goals of the sponsor. Once you have found the right match, you then must develop a successful proposal which will convey your ideas and goals and how they follow the sponsor's goals and guidelines.
