Campus Academic Resources

Tools to aid your educational experience

Whether you want to improve your study skills, explore a variety of academic disciplines, join campus organizations or learn about career options, Drake has the resources to help you succeed.

Libraries

Cowles Library (Drake's main library) and the Drake University Law Library have all the resources you need to succeed academically. Both libraries have wireless Internet access as well as individual and group study areas.

Academic Assistance

Drake empowers you to take responsibility for your own academic success. You have the opportunity to participate in supplemental instruction programs in many academic areas and in Drake's Learning Communities. And if you want to talk to others about setting and reaching goals, choosing classes, improving study habits or other topics, you can turn to your adviser, professors, Drake's assistant to the provost for academic enhancement and/or Professional and Career Development Services staff.

Technology

Technology is incorporated into all majors and many classes at Drake. Wireless Internet access is available across campus; every residence hall room has wireless service and two ethernet ports giving students full, high-speed internet access. In addition, cable television and voice mail are available in the residence halls. Students are expected to bring their own computers to campus, but they may also use computer labs located conveniently across campus.

For the most current information on technology at Drake, visit the Office of Information Technology website and see The OIT Guide for Prospective Students.
