As alumni of Drake University, you share a special lifelong connection to the University community and the Drake University National Alumni Association with over 65,000 people. We are thrilled to share with you that connection just got stronger with the launch of Drake’s new online alumni community, blueView, and experience its many benefits.

BlueView gives you and other Drake alumni worldwide access to the University’s password-protected online alumni community. This center for information and interaction enables alumni to find and reconnect with classmates, update personal information, learn about and register for upcoming events, see news from around campus, and find more about the services offered by the Alumni Association, all in a secure environment. Through blueView, Drake alumni will have access to information unavailable to the public, all in one place. It’s a great way to stay connected.

As a member of the Drake University National Alumni Association and its online alumni community, you will enjoy numerous benefits:

• Receive regular updates about Drake, including access to online versions of Drake Blue magazine and the monthly eBlue newsletter along with invitations to events on campus, reunions and alumni activities in your area.

• Find and reconnect with old friends, from your first-year roommate to former classmates to members of your extracurricular organizations.

• Network with successful fellow alumni to help advance your career and find worthy candidates for positions in your own organization.

• Shape and strengthen Drake’s future by mentoring current students, taking on leadership roles on Drake boards and councils, and supporting The Drake Fund.

Please note that the online alumni directory in blueView contains the following default information for all blueView-registered alumni to see:

College/Year
City
State
Phone Number
E-Mail Address

As a user of Alumni blueView, you have the ability to control what information other alumni see about you.  If you wish to reduce the amount or opt out of showing the default information in the online alumni directory, you can do so in the Alumni Directory channel within blueView.

We are delighted to strengthen your connection to Drake and our fellow Drake alumni.  Take advantage of your lifelong connection to your alma mater via the Drake University National Alumni Association and BlueView!  Log on now to http://blueview.drake.edu and experience all of the benefits the Drake University National Alumni Association has to offer.  By clicking on the blueView URL and reaching the login screen, you will also find an online “quick start guide” which will help you better understand the navigation of blueView and how you can become a “power user” of this online community.  If you run into technical difficulty, don’t worry.  Drake’s Office of Information Technology has made its Help Desk available to Alumni blueView users by calling 800-44-DRAKE, extension 3001.  The Help Desk’s hours are 8:00 am to 4:30 pm Monday through Friday, and you can leave voice mail after hours which will be returned as soon as possible.

Q: I’ve misplaced my login information.  What should I do?

A: Click here to access our blueView verification form.  Please fill out the required fields and submit, and we will send your login information to you as soon as possible.

Q: I’m trying to enter information, but when I submit the information, I’m getting error messages.  Why?

A: If you are trying to access blueView from your office computer, it’s possible that your organization’s firewall is preventing you from fully accessing blueView.  Please check with your administrator if this is the case.  If you are having this issue from home, please call our help desk at 800-44-DRAKE, extension 3001.

Q: I just updated my information, but I’m not seeing the changes that I made.  Why?

A: There is a relatively short lag time between your entry and when it becomes “live” on blueView.  If you check again in approximately 48 hours and notice that it is not there, please contact…(help desk?)

Q: I want to start a group on Alumni blueView.  How do I go about doing that?

A: Click on the “Groups” button at the top of the page, and fill out the required fields.  Your request will be processed for approval.  If your request is not approved, you will be provided with a reason for non-approval.

Q: I’m trying to find a classmate of mine, but I’m finding little to no information on this person.  Why is that?

A: In Alumni blueView, information on Drake alumni is determined by the alumni yourselves.  You decide what information about yourself that you wish to have available to others.  Some alumni may choose not to have any or parts of their information made available.

Q: What kinds of support are available to me?

A: On the login screen of blueView, you can access a quick-start guide by clicking on its link.  You can also access the “Support Center” tab on blueView.  Additionally, you can call our Help Desk at 800-44-DRAKE, extension 3001 between the hours of 8:00am and 4:30pm Central Time, Monday through Friday.

Q: I have an idea of a new channel on Alumni blueView?  How can I make that suggestion?

A: Click here to send an e-mail with your suggestion!

Be sure to watch your mailbox for a letter detailing how to access blueView.  Attached to this letter will be a card, which will contain your Drake University Alumni Association ID number, which will be your username for logging into blueView.  Please keep this card!  Not only can you use it to log on to Alumni blueView, and to discover all of the benefits offered by the Drake University National Alumni Association, but you can also use it to get discounts at participating members of the Drake Area Business Association whenever you’re on campus!  The list of merchants who will be participating in this program will be released very soon and available on blueView!  In the meantime, you can request a username and password by clicking here.
