Christine Johnson, a native of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, studied violin through two curriculums--the Suzuki Method and the Royal Conservatory of Music. She earned her Bachelor's Degree from Graceland College with a double major in violin and piano performance, and her Master's Degree in violin performance from Illinois State University. Christine is currently a member of the Des Moines Symphony Orchestra. Previously, she has held the position of assistant concertmaster with the Linfield Chamber Orchestra. She also has been a member of the Vancouver Symphony, the Illinois Symphony, and the Illinois Chamber Orchestra as well as a member in numerous chamber ensembles. Christine has over ten years of experience teaching all levels of students--from beginners to University level music majors. In addition to her private studio through DUCSOM, Christine coordinates DUCSOM's Young Violin Program.
