Jeanne Witt, instructor of flute, piccolo and guitar, holds a Bachelor of Music degree and a Master of Music degree, both in flute performance, from Drake University, where she studied with Dr. Nathen Jones. She also studied with Harold Bennett, principal flutist with the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra in New York. Ms. Witt has performed with the Des Moines Symphony and the Des Moines Metro Opera orchestra and has appeared as featured soloist with the Central Iowa Symphony. She was faculty flute instructor at Simpson College in Indianola, Iowa and at Central College in Pella, Iowa, where she founded and conducted the College/Community Flute Choir. She has appeared as a solo recitalist and chamber music performer throughout the midwest.

Ms. Witt has been a private flute teacher for over 35 years and has taught in the Community School of Music since 1977. She also currently teaches in the Urbandale School System and on the faculty of Grand View University in Des Moines. She is a founding member of the Flatland Ramblers, an old-time and Celtic instrumental ensemble which performs throughout the midwest. With this ensemble, Ms. Witt plays flute, piccolo, pennywhistle, fife, mandolin and guitar.
