Pre-College Theory/Aural skills class

• The courses are offered in the fall and spring semesters.

• A complete course of study is four semesters.

• First semester—fundamentals and counterpoint

• Second semester—diatonic harmony and small forms

• Third semester—chromatic harmony

• Fourth semester—form

• Appropriate aural skills reinforce each semester’s class.

• Enrolled students are eligible to take the College Board's AP Theory exam or can use the courses as preparation to test out of one or more semesters of theory/aural skills when they matriculate at a music school or conservatory. 

• Textbooks and materials are not included in the tuition cost.

Class Information

• Tuesdays from 4-6:30 p.m.

• Class size is limited to five high school students

• Prior to enrolling, students must interview with the instructor. Call the DUCSOM office, 271-4011, to arrange a time.
