Drake Choir
The Drake Choir is Drake University's select touring ensemble. The choir performs throughout the Midwest annually and internationally every four years. The ensemble toured Austria and the Czech Republic in May 2004. The Drake Choir, which presents four on-campus concerts each year, has performed Mahler's Second Symphony and, along with the other three Drake choral ensembles, sang the Beethoven Ninth Symphony with the Des Moines Symphony in May 2004. In June 1998 the Drake Choir made its Carnegie Hall debut, singing two performances in that prestigious hall, and returned there in June 2002. The choir was selected by audition to perform at the American Choral Directors Association North Central Division Conference in March 2002. The Drake Choir released its seventh CD in August 2005.
