Administrative Program
Review Goals
The goals of the Administrative Review
Committee reflect the overall goals outlined by President Maxwell for the entire
program review process. In addition, the Administrative Review Committee will be
focused on some very specific outcome goals. Both sets of goals are detailed below:
University Program Review Goals as outlined by President Maxwell, January 2000
1. To ensure that all ongoing
programs are consistent with the core mission of Drake University.
2. To ensure the excellence of all University programs, and to ensure the ongoing
availability of resources to guarantee their continued excellence.
3. To ensure that Drake University is no longer "overprogrammed for its resources,"
and thus that the operating budget is balanced on an annual basis.
4. To create a "Fund for the Future," to provide resources to encourage
and support creativity, innovation, and institutional transformation.
Additional Outcome Goals of
Non-academic Program Review
1. To reduce administrative costs
by:
- a. eliminating low priority programs
b. eliminating unnecessary duplication and redundancy
c. improving efficiency and planning
d. strategic internal and external partnering, including outsourcing
2. To improve and enhance services
to:
- a. academic programs
b. students
c. other University constituents
