"Called to be True Blue" Award:

Lorrisa Lieurance honored with "True to Be Blue" Award
In writing Lorrisa's nomination, Theresa Graziano said:
Lorissa was the interim director of residence life for over a year before taking over the position. During that time she was also doing what was her current job, which was the hall coordinator of Goodwin-Kirk Residence Hall, the largest residence hall on campus. She always has gone above and beyond when it comes to the care and welfare of the students living in Drake's residence halls. She has handled upset and sometimes very unhappy students in a professional manner. She also deals with parent calls by providing them with all the information they would need, and then more, and with a calmness that the parents thank her afterwards. When we do entering first-year housing assignments, any request a student puts on their contract, Lorissa goes the extra mile to honor that reqeust to give them a positive experience for their first time away from home. Her knowledge of how the residence life office works is unmatched by anyone. Being on campus for 10+ years, there are few things that she cannot solve in a matter of minutes. The work atmosphere in the office is one that makes it easy to get work done. We work very well together, and can put each other at ease in times of stress. She lets everyone know she is here and cares about them in the jobs as well as their personal lives. Our office supports her 100%, and we are glad she is our director.
