A small number of schools offer programs in actuarial science and currently only fifteen schools (plus six in Canada) are designated Centers of Actuarial Excellence by the Society of Actuaries. Drake's program is part of the College of Business and Public Administration within the Division of Actuarial Science, Statistics, Economics, Finance, and Insurance. This offers our students the advantage of being fully prepared for the business world when they graduate. Drake University has faculty members with actuarial credentials.

The Drake University Actuarial Science program has approximately 300 students with 75 students graduating per year. Many of our students have part-time internships with local firms during the semester and have summer internships at companies throughout the country. We have a number of scholarships available for our students. Financial aid is also available through Drake's Student Financial Planning Office.
