Originally from northwest Missouri, Dr. Haug graduated from Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa with her Doctor of Pharmacy and Masters of Business Administration degrees.  She began her career in Bethesda, Maryland, with the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) as an associate in the ASHP Student Forum.  After several years as a regional liaison to ASHP state affiliates, colleges of pharmacy and health systems, she currently serves as Director of the ASHP New Practitioners Forum.

As Director of the New Practitioners Forum, Dr. Haug guides the strategic planning and coordinates all activities of this vital membership component group.  She is responsible for facilitating the active participating and involvement of new practitioners within ASHP.  She developed the ASHP Mentor Exchange and is a co-author of a book Haug was instrumental in coordinating ASHP's first conference for new practitioners, "Great eXpectations".

Dr. Haug has given professional presentations on a variety of topics both internationally and domestically.  She also serves as a preceptor for students completing experiential rotations in association management at ASHP.  Dr. Haug currently serves on the National Advisory Council and the DELTA Rx Institute Advisory Board for the Drake University College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences.
