FAQ

Question: What kinds of grades and test scores do I need to get in?

Answer: The Admission Committee reviews the complete application of each student and encourages students to apply early to benefit from the priority deadline. No single set of inflexible standards will determine the admissibility of students. To a certain degree, the number of students who apply for entrance to the program will affect the difficulty of gaining direct admission to the pre-pharmacy program. For the 2003-2004 academic year, 65% of all applicants were admitted directly to the CPHS.

The average high school cumulative grade point average of the students offered direct admission for the fall 2003 term was 3.79, and the average rank was at the 87th percentile. The mid-50% ACT composite score range for students offered direct admission to the CPHS was 25-29. The mid-50% ACT math score range was 26-30. In other words, 25% of students admitted directly to the College had test scores below 25 and 26, and 25% of students had test scores above 29 and 30.

Drake encourages applications from all students who have prepared themselves well academically, are motivated to learn, and who have engaged themselves in extracurricular activities. These are the kinds of students our research has shown to have been able to meet the guarantee criteria within two years and progress into the professional program.
