H1N1 and Seasonal Flu Vaccination Policy

For the 2009-2010 academic year, Drake University College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences will require all student pharmacists (P1-P4) within the professional pharmacy program and any health science students completing experiences at practice locations to obtain a seasonal influenza vaccination and provide the experiential office with proof of immunization.

The H1N1 vaccination must be obtained only if required by the practice site to which a student is assigned and pending availability.  This policy is subject to change as universal recommendations are revised.

The seasonal flu vaccine is available at many Walgreens and HyVee locations.  To assist students in meeting this requirement, the College will also offer an opportunity for seasonal flu vaccination:

What:     Influenza Vaccination

When:    September 23, 2009  9am-4pm

Where:   Olin Hall fourth floor lounge

Costs:    $25

Immunizations will be provided by Drake faculty and students.

DEADLINE to provide the experiential office with proof of immunization will be October 9th, 2009.

For additional information and guidelines regarding both H1N1 and seasonal flu, please refer to the link provided by Drake University.
