Free Online Library Access for Preceptors

As preceptors you are invited to use electronic resources available from Cowles Library. In addition to the standard drug information databases provided through PEMS (Micromedex, Facts & Comparisons and Lexi-Comp) you can access a variety of journal indexing websites such as Scopus, Medline-EBSCO, International Pharmaceutical Abstracts (IPA) and others. You can also access thousands of full text journals and eBooks.

To gain access to Cowles Library resources, simply click here or paste the link below into your browser.

You will be required to fill out a brief form.  Be sure to click "submit" when completed.  You will receive an email within 24 hours verifying your registration with instructions to begin using the library.  Once your registration is verified, you will be able to use online library resources by simply using your PEMS username and password.

Keep in mind that this process results in online access only.  If you wish to check out physical items from the library, the process is different, so please contact our office for more information at 515.271.3191 or exp.pharmacy@drake.edu.

A series of brief tutorials are available which provide instructions on how to use various library resources.  Click the link below or paste it to your browser to choose from a number of online demonstrations.
