Experiential Education - P1 Students
Dispensing - Early Experience
P1 students will participate in dispensing activities, spending a minimum of 40 hours in a dispensing environment, such as a community practice or hospital setting. Course goals include demonstration of skills in the competency categories of Drug Therapy Problem-Solving, Communication, Product and Service Management, and Professionalism in order to safely and accurately prepare and dispense medication in addition to comparing various pharmacy practice settings.

Geriatric Service Learning
In addition, students spend a minimum of 20 hours getting to know a geriatric patient in a long term care or elder care facility. The project is directed at developing professionalism, empathy, caring and communication through the development of a personal relationship between the student and an elderly individual
