Patient Care Services
P3 students will complete 40 hours in a patient care service environment. The Patient Care Service Early Experience is designed to introduce students to professional services and practice management. Course goals include demonstrating skills in competency categories of Drug Therapy Problem-Solving, Communication, Product and Service Management, and Professionalism in order to provide excellent patient care through professional services.

Continuity of Care
In addition, students in their third professional year will complete at least 40 hours in a pharmacy practice environment focused on continuity of care. The Continuity of Care Early Experience is designed to introduce students to the medication reconciliation process and other issues related to continuity of care in various pharmacy practice settings including ambulatory, hospital, surgical and others. Course goals include demonstrating skills in competency categories of Drug Therapy Problem-Solving, Communication, Product and Service Management, and Professionalism in order to provide excellent patient care.

Drug Therapy Problem Solving
Students will spend a minimum of 40 hours in a pharmacy practice environment.  The course is designed to have students gain experience in the drug therapy problem identification and resolution process in active pharmacy practice settings including ambulatory, hospital, long-term care, quality assurance and others.  Course goals include demonstration of skills in competency categories of Drug Therapy Problem-Solving, Communication, Product and Service Management, and Professionalism in order to provide excellent patient care.
