Students Examine Options While Planning for Spring Break

Des Moines, Iowa (Feb. 5, 1997)-- As the temperature and snow falls at Drake, students are already making their plans for spring break, March 24 through March 28. As much as the students differ, so do the places they wish to see.

"Five friends and I went to Breckenridge, Colo., over Christmas break and had a blast. Four of us are going back for spring break," said Derek Noer (AS2) said.

Noer used Sunchase Tours Inc., one of the many companies offering package trips. "Sunchase saved us a lot of cash," Noer said. "I hope we can find another package trip for spring time."

The package deals are popular among some students. "Our group is going to Cancun, Mexico, for nine days. We got inexpensive airfare, and the package is giving us a condo really cheap," Allen Goldner (J4) said.

Many students already planning trips are headed toward either sun or snow. Either way, it is a good way to get out of Iowa and relax.

Other students are going home to see their families. However, there are always those with more unique ideas. "Three other girls and I are going to drive to Graceland," Annie Nelson (BA3) said. "We're all big Elvis fans and want to see the King's home."
