Jessica Barnes is a senior English and news-editorial double major at Drake University. Her hometown is along the Mississippi River in Rock Island, Ill. After graduating in May, Jessica will be attending Western Illinois University to get her master's degree in reading and writing. Jessica would like to teach creative writing at a junior college to help students go into four-year programs.


Jennifer L. Berger is originally from Buffalo Grove, Ill. She is a senior news-editorial journalism major with a concentration in history at Drake University. Currently, she has an internship with the Des Moines Arts Alliance, editing its newsletter. Her goal is to attend law school starting in the Fall 1997 semester.


Amy Crevoiserat is a first-semester senior news-editorial major; she will graduate in December 1997. Amy is managing editor of The Times-Delphic, Drake's student newspaper. She will have a Dow Jones Newspaper Fund Internship at The Myrtle Beach Sun News during the summer of 1997. Originally from Topeka, Kan., Amy hopes to eventually work for a paper in the Midwest. Her hobbies include reading, sewing and collecting salt and pepper shakers-- her collection now numbers 101.


Lisa Lee Estey is a senior journalism student with a news-editorial major and English concentration at Drake University. Her hometown is Merrimack, N. H. She left the East Coast to go to school in Iowa to get away from home. Lisa's hobbies include writing poetry and short fiction, inline skating and snowmobiling. Her favorite meal is breakfast, and her ultimate goal in life is to be a happy, successful writer.


Michael Ferreter is a senior news-editorial major with a political science minor at Drake Univeristy. He is a native of Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He currently works for the Cedar Rapids Gazette in the Des Moines bureau. Michael also has worked for the Creston (Iowa) News Advertiser and the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, where he was a Dow Jones Newspaper Fund Intern. He enjoys reading, basketball and jazz. His collection of music CDs numbers around 400.


Daniel P. Finney is a native of Des Moines, Iowa. The Drake university senior in news-editorial is the first student to serve two years as executive editor of The Times-Delphic, Drake's student newspaper, in the paper's 115-year history. He is the winner of a 1996 William Randolph Hearst Award for excellence in feature writing and a 1995 winner of an Iowa Newspaper Association Award for excellence in feature writing. He enjoys Drake women's basketball and is an avid New York Yankees fan.


Christine Grosz is a Drake University senior from Downers Grove, Ill., majoring in news-editorial journalism and English. She will graduate with four newspaper internships behind her, including current work at The Des Moines Register. Grosz enjoys architecture and travel. In her free time, she reads and keeps an eye on a hyperactive pet rabbit.


Jason W. Keese is a senior majoring in journalism and English. A native of Iowa City, Iowa, Jason has worked for three newspapers, one magazine, and washed dishes at a restaurant. Jason enjoys music, left-wing politics, University of Iowa athletics and a hearty bowl of vegetable soup. Jason dreams of working for and running an alternative weekly in the future. Or becoming a rock star.


Jeremy Thornburgh from Lake City, Minn. started his journalistic career in his sophomore year at Drake University. He has a special interest in sports, which spawned jobs with The Times-Delphic, , Drake's student newspaper, and The Des Moines Register. He is interested in all sports, especially those of the outdoor variety, although he is not a bad basketball player. He is also an avid fan of movies and certain television shows, such as "The Simpsons" and "The X-Files."


A native of Oak Lawn, Ill. (a suburb of Chicago), Christina M. Wojtysiak is a senior news-editorial major at Drake University. Between her classes at Drake and a summer internship at the Daily Southtown newspaper in Chicago, Christina feels she is ready to make a splash in the journalism world. She credits a semester spent studying in England with helping her to better understand the world and its people. Christina is currently working on her photography skills and writing a novel about her grandparents' immigration to America.
