Alumni of Drake’s economics program have gone on to a variety of jobs and opportunities upon graduation. Many pursue law school and some obtain their graduate degrees in economics. Individuals with a B.A. in Economics can pursue a variety of careers, including research, consulting, teaching, data analytics, finance, management, and entrepreneurism. You might decide to stay put after graduation, and Drake’s location in Des Moines offers countless opportunities for internships, professional development, and careers. Des Moines is considered one of the world’s capitals of insurance and financial services, and is home to numerous other industries and several Fortune 500 companies. 

Des Moines is also recognized for its excellent economic outlook and inviting environment for young professionals. Forbes named the city the “No. 1 best place for business and careers,” and SmartAsset named Des Moines one of the top 10 U.S. cities for new graduates. 

In addition to the staff in Drake’s Professional and Career Development Center, Handshake is available to all current students and alumni to help them advance their career and find job openings.
