Conceptual Understanding for Math (EDDL 254)

COURSE OVERVIEW
This course is designed to give educators an understanding of the attributes commonly associated with a conceptually-based mathematics lesson. You will read and discuss the theory and research behind conceptual learning while comparing and discriminating conceptually-based with traditional procedurally-based lessons. You will design a "making the Connections" section of a lesson and explore the importance of questioning in conceptual learning.
