COURSE OVERVIEW

This course is designed to involve teachers in using methods and developing curricula that meet both the language and the content-learning needs of their ELLS. You will learn to understand ESL methodology and use it to plan curricula that are differentiated to the needs of ELLs. You will learn research-based methods and strategies to build background knowledge, increase student interaction, and assess student progress toward goals, and scaffold instruction in order to meet the needs of ELLs and to evaluate the results.
