 Chemical Hygiene

Persons working in laboratories are exposed to hazards unique to their work environment. In order to address these hazards OSHA developed the Chemical Hygiene Standard to expand the Hazard Communication Standards to include laboratory employees.

Drake University has a Chemical Hygiene Plan that addresses the hazards in the laboratory and contains standard procedures to be followed when working with various chemicals.

To see a complete copy of the plan go to the: Forms, Plans and Procedures section of this web site.

For more information concerning the Chemical Hygiene Standard go to OSHA.

For more information contact the EHS office.
