Eligibility: Grundy County Memorial Foundation is offering healthcare career scholarships to students residing in or who have graduated from the Grundy County Memorial Hospital service area of Black Hawk, Butler, Grundy, Hardin and Tama counties.

Iowa Hospital Education Research Foundation (IHERF)
Deadline: March (Annually)

Award: $3,000-$6,000

Eligibility: Student must be enrolled in an accredited health care program listed on the application. Student must be currently within two years of completing professional education. Student must work for an Iowa hospital (one year per scholarship awarded).

National Institutes of Health Undergraduate Scholarship Program
Deadline: February (Annually)
Award: Up to $20,000, scholarships are awarded for one year and can be renewed up to four years

Eligibility: Have GPA of 3.5 (on a 4.0 scale) or be within the top 5% of your class.  Be U.S. citizen, U.S. national, or qualified non-citizen (eligible to work in U.S.). Be enrolled or accepted for enrollment as a full-time student for the 2006-2007 academic year at an accredited 4-year undergraduate institution. Be from a disadvantaged background. Disadvantaged background means that you come from a low-income family (see website for more information). Priority is given to students who have completed at least 2 years of undergraduate course work including biology, chemistry, physics, and calculus (or are currently sophomores and/or juniors).
