From the Academic Calendar Task Force LouAnn Simpson

Motion A– The Fall Semester will commence on the Monday two weeks before Labor Day.

Motion B - The Spring Semester will begin on the Monday in January following four weeks

of break after the end of the Final Exam Period in the Fall Semester

Discussion Items:

Item 1 - Grades will be due 5 calendar days after the last day of the term.  

Item 2 – A week of Spring Break will begin after the 8th week of the Spring Semester

so that Drake’s Spring Break will be the 9th calendar week

of our 17 week semester (16 weeks of classes). 

Item 3 – Final Exams will last for four days and will begin the Tuesday

following the last week of classes

Item 4 - An Academic Showcase Day is held on the Friday of Drake Relays.
