Native Speakers
The native speakers facilitate the conversationally-based classes 3 times per week. Many of them are students, both undergraduate and graduate, at Drake; many language students find this to be an enormous advantage in that they can engage in activities with their native speaker outside the classroom to continue language and culture learning. Students might attend Drake basketball games together and explore the difference in collegiate athletics in target culture and America, perhaps go to a restaurant of the target culture, etc. The native speakers are also able to assist the professors in developing out of class activities such as karaoke night or calligraphy night pictured below.
