Student Resources

World Languages and Cultures Resources for Students:

Jane Evans Language Center  232 Meredith Hall  271-4548

The Jane Evans Language Center is a place where students can go to use World Languages and Cultures computers to complete assignments for their language classes.  The center is generally open from 9a-9p Monday-Thursday, 9a-5p Friday, and 1p-9p Sunday.  The center is staffed by students who have a general familiarity with the technology used in the program and can help you with any technology questions.

Moodle (http://dulap.drake.edu/moodle/)

Moodle is the course management system used by World Languages and Cultures.

Students will have a Moodle course for both their language course and their language learning strategies course.

Through their Moodle courses, students can access their course syllabus, the ePortfolio handbook, listening practice materials (CDs that accompany the textbook, Models for the Audio Samples, etc.), links to outside websites, and other resources.

ePortfolios (http://dulap2.drake.edu/weblog/)

Each semester, students make an ePortfolio containing their best work from the semester.  They can use this ePortfolio to show their language skills to prospective employers, graduate schools, friends, etc.
