The following terms apply:

The software license is only good for as long as the University participates in the campus agreement. Should the University decide to withdraw from or not renew the agreement, or if Microsoft cancels the agreement, all software that is included would have to be deleted or purchased by the University.

Distribution procedures and terms:

  1. Under the terms of the agreement, a group of instructional technology staff have been identified and approved as authorized software installers by OIT. Typically these are people whose responsibilities include the installation of software for the University as a whole, e.g., Microcomputer Services staff and technical support staff hired by particular Colleges or Schools. These staff will install software upon request on University owned computers.
  2. Authorized software installers have been given copies of installation CDs and will be given software updates as they arrive; a username and password to Drake’s networked software installers; and software Product Keys as provided by Microsoft. Authorized software installers are expressly forbidden to provide other people with the CDs; usernames, passwords or Product Keys unless directed to do so by the OIT. Authorized software installers also may not make copies of software distributed to them as part of the campus agreement.
  3. OIT will announce to the campus when updated versions of software arrive and make the software available to the installers.
  4. Authorized software installers will record installations of software and report them to OIT.
  5. If authorized software installers suspect that the software license or campus agreement is not being followed, they must report the situation to the Office of Information Technology.
