In the residence halls, one network port is provided for each student assigned to a room. These ports provide access to the Internet as well as to e-mail and other university computing resources. Access to campus resources is available at 100 megabits per second through the "wired" network connection. Internet bandwidth is shared among all campus constituents. In addition to the network ports available in each room, secure wireless access is available throughout the residence hall lounges. The wireless network adheres to the 802.11g standard.
