How to Request an Account
Procedure for Requesting a Podcast:
A Drake University student, faculty and/or staff member, with a current Drake ID, will complete a podcast application form. The individual will be contacted, via e-mail, by an OIT administrator with the necessary access information within three to five business days.
The following steps are followed when a user requests an account to be able to publish to DUiT:
- Submit Podcast Application Form
- OIT creates an account and provides the user with access information within 3-5 business days.
- OIT personnel meets with perspective publisher/author or group contact person to review Podcasting process, if requested.
- Podcast is recorded, edited and uploaded by publisher/author when they are ready for it to be viewed within the Drake University Podcasting on iTUNES website.
Technical Requirements for Recording a Podcast:
Drake University Podcasts, course-related and Drake Community access, must meet the following minimum *standards:
* Audio format: MP3
* Data rate: 128 kbits/sec
* Channels: Stereo
* Output sample rate: 44.100 kHz
* Encoding quality: Better
All Drake University podcasts must meet the following minimum standards:
* Video format: H.264
* Data rate: 256 kbits/sec
* Image size: 320x240
* Frame rate: 30
* Key frame: Every 24 frames
