| 10,000 Hours Show The purpose of The 10,000 Hours Show is to engage Drake University students and other local young people in the Polk, Warren, Dallas and Story County area through volunteer service at local nonprofits and also to produce a free concert that is just for these volunteers to encourage and recognize their service. Through these efforts, The 10,000 Hours Show mobilizes young people to help meet immediate community needs through volunteering and helps develop the next generation of active community leaders. | Chemistry Club Chemistry Club offers an opportunity for students to become involved in the Chemistry department as well as meet students with common interests. | College Republicans The Drake College Republicans chapter is one in a statewide network of student-run organizations geared towards politically minded, Republican students. Active members participate in a variety of ways and for a number of different reasons. The organization offers extensive, real life experience in the inner workings of a partisan group. Members often choose to volunteer for campaigns, attend speaking events and fundraisers, participate in forums, receive specialized training, as well as a variety of other activities. Colleges Against Cancer Colleges Against Cancer (CAC) is the collegiate chapter of the American Cancer Society. Through CAC, students can have fun while making a difference in lives of people facing cancer. Our biggest annual event is Relay for Life-a 12-hour, overnight walk that brings the entire Drake community together to raise awareness about cancer prevention, celebrate cancer survivors (Luminary Ceremony) and raise money for the ACS.
