10,000 Hours Show
The purpose of The 10,000 Hours Show is to engage Drake University students and other local young people in the Polk, Warren, Dallas and Story County area through volunteer service at local nonprofits and also to produce a free concert that is just for these volunteers to encourage and recognize their service.
Through these efforts, The 10,000 Hours Show mobilizes young people to help meet immediate community needs through volunteering and helps develop the next generation of active community leaders.
The 10,000 Hours Show of Central Iowa is an endeavor of the United Way of Central Iowa, Iowa State University and Drake University.

BACCHUS (Boosting Alcohol Consciousness Concerning the Health of University Students) mission is to develop a community which is educated and aware of all relevant health issues facing college students through both fun and educational programming. BACCHUS emphasizes making smart decisions and taking responsibility for whatever choice is made especially concerning alcohol responsibility.

Best Buddies
Best Buddies is an organization that pairs Drake students with mentally handicapped students from a Des Moines public school for friendship. Activities are both group and one-on-one. A year long commitment is required.

Chemistry Club
Chemistry Club offers an opportunity for students to become involved in the Chemistry department as well as meet students with common interests. Activities planned for the upcoming year include goggle and lab notebook sales, speakers, Mole Day breakfast, fun group activities and an out reach program (chemical magic show, career day). Chem Club members also assist the Chemistry Department in professional conferences and department tours. All majors are welcome.

The Drake College Republicans chapter is one in a statewide network of student-run organizations geared towards politically minded, Republican students. Active members participate in a variety of ways and for a number of different reasons. The organization offers extensive, real life experience in the inner workings of a partisan group. Members often choose to volunteer for campaigns, attend speaking events and fundraisers, participate in forums, receive specialized training, as well as a variety of other activities. Students who are looking to enter politics or simply support their beliefs have found this organization as an easy way to achieve their goals, whatever they may be.
