Joshua Johnson

Joshua (Josh) Johnson is a Teaching Artist at Drake University, where he runs the horn program. He is also a private horn instructor in Des Moines and an Associate Teaching Professor at Iowa State University.

Josh is a multi-talented orchestral performer, appearing as 4th Horn with the Des Moines Symphony and 3rd Horn with the Quad City Symphony. He also performs in Broadway shows at the Orpheum Theatre in Omaha and, on occasion, at the Civic Center in Des Moines.

Josh's mission is to provide aspiring horn players with the opportunity to better their craft, regardless of income or geographic location. He holds a B.M. in Performance from the University of Iowa and an M.M. in Performance from the University of Nebraska. In his free time, Josh enjoys driving cool cars and motorcycles on Iowa's backroads.
