FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE August 29, 2000 ALTERNATIVE ENTRANCES SET FOR HOME FOOTBALL OPENER SATURDAY With major road repairs near Drake Stadium, the Drake athletic department has disclosed several alternatives that have been made to accommodate fans attending the Drake Bulldogs' football season opener against McKendree Saturday at 1 p.m. Tickets will be sold only at two locations: the Drake Athletic Ticket Office on 27th Street just north of the Drake Fieldhouse or the southeast entrance to Drake Stadium off of Forest Avenue. Fans who already have tickets can enter Drake Stadium at either the northeast corner off Clark Street or from the southeast corner off Forest. Work crews from the city of Des Moines have been busy installing new storm sewer systems since early June on both Forest between 27th Street and 30th Street as well as 28th Street located directly west of Drake Stadium Press Box between Forest and Clark Streets. "This might cause a little inconvenience but once fans are inside Drake Stadium there shouldn't be any disruptions," said Mike Cigelman, assistant athletic director for facilities at Drake.
