Surprise your valentine with music and flowers at work or at home with the Drake Choir's singing valentines. The Drake Choir's talented vocalists will serenade your sweetheart with "Close to You" or "Someone to Watch Over Me" and present a single red rose or a half dozen red roses. Small groups of choir members will deliver singing valentines throughout the Des Moines area from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 13, and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 14. Special delivery arrangements can be made on an individual basis. But hurry! The Drake Choir has only 100 singing valentines, and the registration deadline is Friday, Feb. 11. By ordering a singing valentine, you'll help send the Drake Choir on a European tour in May. "No University funds will be used for the tour, so your support is important and greatly appreciated," said Aimee Beckmann-Collier, director of choral activities at Drake. To reserve a singing valentine, send in your name, address and phone number along with the recipient's name and address (including building and room) and preferred time of delivery. Also specify which of the two packages you wish to send: A True Romantic: a song and a single rose for $20.00; or Cupid's Favorite: a song and a half dozen red roses for $30.
