DRAKE SPEAKER TO SHARE TIPS FOR ACADEMIC SUCCESS
Jonathan Mooney, co-author of "Learning Outside the Lines," will speak
at Drake University on Tuesday, March 6. He will discuss how students -- including
those with learning disabilities -- can improve their study skills and achieve academic
success. His speech, which is free and open to the public, will start at 7:30 p.m.
in room 124 of the School of Education, 3206 University Ave.
Mooney, who is dyslexic, didn't learn to read until he was in sixth grade. He went
on, however, to graduate with honors from Brown University. He teamed up with David
Cole, another Brown alumnus, to write "Learning Outside the Lines: Two Ivy League
Students with Learning Disabilities and AD/HD Give You the Tools for Academic Success
and Educational Revolution."
Mooney's speech is jointly sponsored by the Drake Adult Literacy Center, the Drake
Disability Resource Center, the Learning Disabilities Association of Iowa and Children
and Adults with Attention Deficit Disorder. For more information, call (515) 271-3982. |
