Bob Cooper, the Employers Mutual distinguished professor of insurance, presented a paper titled "The Key Ethical Dilemmas in Marketing Insurance: A Comparison of the Two Main Segments of the Insurance Industry" at the annual meeting of the Academy of Collegiate Marketing Educators in New Orleans on March 3. Cooper wrote the paper with Garry Frank, professor of public administration.

James Dodd, associate professor of accounting, spoke at the Iowa Society of Certified Public Accountants Members in Industry breakfast meeting Feb. 15. His talk was titled "Can Small Businesses Use the New Finance?"

Ismael Hossein-Zadeh, associate professor of economics, had his article, "Making Sense of the Current U.S. Economic Expansion: A Long Wave Approach and a Critique," published in the latest issue of the Review of Radical Political Economics, Vol. 32, No. 3 (September 2000). Hossein-Zadeh co-authored the piece with Anthony Gabb of St. John's University.

Jack Manders, professor of business law, has been named assistant director of the Kelley Insurance Center for the purpose of developing and directing additional education programs for state insurance regulators.

Scott Yetmar, MBA'91, assistant professor of accounting, has earned the CFM (Certified Financial Manager) designation from the Institute of Management Accountants.
