DRAKE STUDENT NEWSCAST TO DEBUT JAN. 30
Tuesday, Jan. 30, marks the spring 2001 debut of "DrakeLINE," Drake
University's student-produced television newscast.
Drake students majoring in broadcast news and radio/TV will venture off campus to
find the top stories in the Des Moines area for the twice weekly newscasts. "DrakeLINE"
will air at 4 p.m. and again at 5 p.m. and 9 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays on AT&T
Cable
Channel 46, Des Moines' College Channel.
Students will handle all writing, editing, talent and camera work for the 24-newscast
production series, and will finish the semester by providing extensive coverage of
the Drake Relays.
"DrakeLINE" is made possible by the Drake School of Journalism and Mass
Communication, and is offered every two years. The spring 2001 edition of "DrakeLINE"
is the fifth year of production. The initial program in 1993 won an EMMY for the
10-state region. |
