STUDENTS PRESENT INTERNATIONAL NIGHT NOV. 9
Drake University
will celebrate cultural diversity with Prism: International Night 2001
on Friday, Nov. 9.
"International
Night aspires to broaden the perspective of students and the Des Moines
community to the vast and varied cultures of today's global village and
to celebrate the spirit of international harmony," says Shaleen Patanwala,
publicity director for the International Student Association at Drake.
The festivities
will start with students performing a cultural showcase of song and dance
as well as a fashion show at 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 9, on the Jordan Stage
in Sheslow Auditorium in Old Main, 25th Street and University Avenue.
A food festival
featuring a variety of authentic worldwide culinary delights will follow
at 8:30 p.m. in Parents Hall at Olmsted Center, 29th Street and University
Avenue. Capping the festivities will be a semi-formal dance at 10 p.m.
in Olmsted Center.
Tickets are
$10 for the entire event or $7 for the cultural show only. Advance tickets
are on sale in Olmsted Center between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. and 5 and 7 p.m.
