Drake University will celebrate cultural diversity with Prism: International Night 2001 on Friday, Nov. 9.

"International Night aspires to broaden the perspective of students and the Des Moines community to the vast and varied cultures of today's global village and to celebrate the spirit of international harmony," says Shaleen Patanwala, publicity director for the International Student Association at Drake.

The festivities will start with students performing a cultural showcase of song and dance as well as a fashion show at 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 9, on the Jordan Stage in Sheslow Auditorium in Old Main, 25th Street and University Avenue.

A food festival featuring a variety of authentic worldwide culinary delights will follow at 8:30 p.m. in Parents Hall at Olmsted Center, 29th Street and University Avenue. Capping the festivities will be a semi-formal dance at 10 p.m. in Olmsted Center.

Tickets are $10 for the entire event or $7 for the cultural show only. Advance tickets are on sale in Olmsted Center between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. and 5 and 7 p.m. Tickets, if still available, also will be sold at the door. For more information, call 271-3269.
