DRAKE TO HONOR THREE OUTSTANDING EDUCATORS
Three outstanding educators will be honored Friday, Oct. 27, by the Drake University
School of Education at the school's Annual Alumni Awards Dinner at the Hotel Fort
Des Moines in downtown Des Moines.
Alumni Awards will be presented to:
Dorothy Campbell, a former
second-grade teacher and vice principal of Rice Elementary School in Des Moines who
now volunteers in various educational areas and supervises student teachers for Drake.
She received her bachelor's degree from Drake in 1967 and her master's degree in
1977.
Catherine J. Stjernberg, a counselor at Westridge Elementary School in West
Des Moines. She earned her bachelor's degree from Drake in 1974 and her master's
degree in 1979.
In addition to the Alumni Awards,
Drake will present the School of Education Lifetime Achievement Award to Dr. Gaylord
Tryon, executive director of School Administrators of Iowa.
The event will begin with a reception at 5:30 p.m. followed by dinner at 6:30 p.m.
