September 2016 Message to Parents

The Office of Student Inclusion, Involvement and Leadership (STIIL) is a resource for social, recreational, multicultural, and leadership activities for students that are designed to enhance the academic mission of Drake University. STIIL is comprised of several areas:

  • Campus and Multicultural Programming
  • Fraternity & Sorority Life
  • Leadership Programs
  • Student Organizations
  • Olmsted Center & Pomerantz Student Union
  • Student Life Center

All areas are overseen by the Associate Dean of Students. As a part of the Divison of Student Life it is our mission to complement the University's academic curriculum by providing integrated learning experiences for students that foster personal and professional growth, integrity, responsiblity and accountability in a changing global society.

The Activities Fair is an opportunity for students to jump start their involvement on campus! The Fair usually takes place the second or third week of classes in the Fall semester. Students have the opportunity to browse and learn more about 100+ student organizations. We highly encourage all students to attend the fair to learn about opportunities to get involved on campus early in their career at Drake University. Be sure to ask your student about what they are involved in on campus, and what they hope to learn from their involvement.

Parents & Family Weekend will take place September 23 – 25 this year. Please be sure to go online to register for the events if you haven’t done so already. Please visit for more information.
