Access to blueView

Your username access to blueView is your Drake ID number. If you have never received a Drake ID or if you lose it or have forgotten it, fill in the form below and Drake will email you your Drake ID in two to three business days.

Your access to blueView does not imply access to our payment system; they are separate systems. Based on federal guidelines, your student must give you prior approval to access our payment system

Once you have access to blueView, there are two ways to gain access to see your student's academic records.

  1. Your student may give you access to view her/his midterm and final grades, unofficial transcript, or hold(s) on his/her account.

  2. You may submit proof that the student is a dependent for tax purposes. Proof is considered to be a copy of the most recent year’s federal tax form showing that you claim your student as a dependent. This form should be submitted to Director of Student Records. Access will then be created for you, and your student notified that access has been given. A new request will need to be submitted annually to maintain access.

Drake University recognizes the importance of and encourages the student-parent relationship throughout the college experience. It is Drake’s philosophy to empower students to take responsibility for their academic success, personal development, and professional accomplishments. Open communications between you and your student is critical. Therefore, it is our goal to inform both you and your student of Drake’s policies and procedures and help you direct your student to appropriate resources to address his or her own concerns. Given this philosophy, option 1 is preferable. Discuss with your student whether this is a good choice for your family.
