If you're considering an undergraduate Nursing degree, enrolling in Army ROTC can enhance your leadership skills and critical thinking abilities while providing financial support to help make your professional goals a reality.

Being a Nurse in the Army provides you with benefits not found in the civilian world. As an Army Nurse and Officer, you will have the respect of your peers and coworkers, as well as opportunities to train and serve in a variety of specialties.

We currently have several opportunities and career paths to choose from. With the ROTC Nursing Scholarship you are assessed into the Active Duty Army with a 4-year commitment, but you decide how to go about getting your degree.

2-Plus-2 Program at DMACC: Spend your first two years of college at any DMACC campus to become a Registered Nurse and then go onto Grand View College to finish your Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing Degree.

Mercy Partnership:  Drake Army ROTC has a partnership agreement with Mercy College of Health Sciences, allowing you to cross-enroll in both programs.

Grand View College Partnership:  Drake Army ROTC has a partnership agreement with Grand View College, allowing you to cross-enroll in both programs.

All Scholarships Provide:

  • 100% Tuition and Fees Paid
  • Books: $1,200 per year ($600/semester)
  • Monthly tax free stipend during the school year ($300-$500/month)

University Incentives: some schools offer additional incentives for scholarship winners (i.e. free room and board, out of state tuition waivers, etc.)

Service Obligation: Your total service obligation will be eight years (the first four years are active duty) At the completion of your four years you may elect to continue on active duty or enter the Army Reserves/National Guard for the remaining four years.
