blueVIEW FAQ: Midterm and Final Grades
For a particular term, students can view their midterm and final grades via a direct link in blueVIEW. In general, grades that are entered by the instructor will not appear on a student's record until the following day, as the system posts all students' grades and recalculates their GPA's automatically overnight.
Drake does not mail paper grade reports to students.
Midterm grades for the fall semester become available to students in mid-October, and midterm grades for the spring semester become available to students in mid-March.
Final grades for the fall semester become available to students on or around November 1st, and final grades for the spring semester become available to students on or around April 1st.
Check announcements in blueVIEW for specific dates each semester.
Students can view all their grades from their entire history at Drake by accessing their unofficial transcript in blueVIEW.
Viewing your Midterm or Final Grades
- Log in to blueVIEW.
- Click the MyDUSIS icon at the upper right.
- In the new window that pops up, click the Student Services & Financial Aid tab.
- Click the Student Records link.
- Click the Midterm Grades (or Final Grades) link.
- On the next page, choose the appropriate semester.

Q: I've followed the directions above, but the system does not give me the option of the semester I'm trying to access. Why is that?
A: Midterm and final grades are not available to students until a pre-defined date each semester. Fall midterm grades become available in mid-October, and fall final grades become available around November 1st. Spring midterm grades become available in mid-March, and spring final grades become available around April 1st. Check your announcements in blueVIEW to determine the exact date when the grades become available for the current term.
Q: I can access my midterm (or final) grades for a particular semester, but it appears that at least one of my classes is missing a grade. Why is that?
A: The deadline for instructors to submit midterm (or final) grades generally is a few days after the grades become available to students. Check your announcements in blueVIEW to determine the faculty grade-entry deadline. If that date has passed, contact your instructor directly or notify your college/school dean's office that your grade is missing.
