Mission Statement

The mission of the offices of Finance & Administration is to support the exceptional learning/living environment envisioned in the Drake University mission statement through the stewardship of all University resources and extraordinary service to students, employees, donors and the broader Drake community.  The vision of the office of the Vice President of Finance & Administration is that each of the units will be "best in class" — operating with the highest standards of integrity, transparency and professionalism.


Five Principal Goals:

  • Enhance the long-term financial health of Drake University
  • Ensure that resource allocation is aligned with the University's strategic priorities
  • Provide competitive and safe environment
  • Facilitate and monitor a competitive salary and benefit package for all faculty and staff
  • Mitigate institutional risk and preserve University assets

Drake students now have access to a new state-of-the-art collaborative learning space with industry-standard business tools, thanks to a generous $1.5 million gift from American Equity founder and Drake University supporter David J. Noble.
