Annual Faculty and Staff Learning Symposium

“Celebrating Drake Values” is the theme of the Drake University, 2015 Third Annual Learning SymposiumAs a 21st century model for excellence in higher education, we aspire to be distinctive in innovative and effective learning environments that prepare students to fulfill both their personal aspirations and society’s need for an educated, engaged citizenry and for a competitive workforce.  Historically, Drake has aimed to enhance the possibilities of life for its students.  Using the liberal arts and sciences with professional preparation, we have valued the goal to cultivate our students’ abilities as learners with a focus on critical thinking, effective speaking and writing, quantitative ability, collaboration, problem-solving capacity, and technological literacy.  Additionally, we value our ability to enhance the practical as well as the intellectual dimensions of the learning experience that takes place in and outside of the traditional classroom.
