Drake University offers a variety of study abroad programs on every inhabited continent with learning opportunities in more than 60 countries. Interim, summer, semester and year-long programs are available to students with or without foreign language backgrounds. There are a number of study abroad programs designed specifically for art and design students in cities such as Buenos Aires, Argentina; Dublin, Ireland; Florence and Milan, Italy; Freiburg, Germany; and Melbourne, Australia.
Drake University is also a consortium member of Studio Art Centers International in Florence, Italy. There are competitive scholarships for SACI available to students from consortium schools. Founded in 1975, SACI is a U.S. non-profit 501c (3) university-level institution in Florence offering undergraduate and graduate students fully accredited studio art, design, conservation, and liberal arts instruction. SACI's study programs include: Academic Year Abroad, Academic Semester Abroad, BGSU M.F.A. Program, Post-Baccalaureate Certificate Year Abroad, and Summer Studies.
