Susan Odem received her Bachelor of Music degree in oboe from the University of Missouri-Kansas City as a student of Ralph Watilo, and the Master of Music degree from Drake University, studying with Jay Light. She is a member of the Des Moines Symphony, the Des Moines Symphony Woodwind Quintet, Lyric Winds, the Bruch Trio, and the Amadeus Trio. Ms. Odem performs with many other orchestras and chamber ensembles in the Central Iowa region. She is an adjunct instructor of double reeds at Simpson College and Central College and also teaches a large private studio of double reed students.
