Athletic Training Spotlight

Meet Aayushi Sarkar, a second-year (A2) student from Orlando, Florida, who is in the Master of Athletic Training (MAT) program.

Aayushi will graduate from the the Master of Athletic Training (MAT)Aayushi Sarkar at Florida football stadium program in 2025. As part of her experiential education requirements, Aayushi is completing a fall 2024 immersive experience with University of Florida Football. Read more about this immersive experience below.

Why did you choose your immersive site - University of Florida Football?

I chose University of Florida Football because I wanted to be involved with a large SEC (NCAA Southeastern Conference) football team. I picture myself working in an intense, high-energy scene, and working with SEC Football gives me that experience. It has also allowed me to be closer to home and to my family, who get to watch me on the sidelines doing the job I've dreamed of doing.

What is your favorite part/experience so far?

My favorite experience has been nighttime home games at The Swamp. The stadium is buzzing and the sidelines are hyped up.

How has this experience helped you in future career planning?

This experience has opened up opportunities for me that I never even imagined or considered beforehand. Having the ability to make connections and network in this setting has made me realize that I would like to continue working with college football teams in the future. Eventually, I plan to push myself towards my goal of becoming an Athletic Trainer for an NFL team.
