Individual Counseling can benefit any student and students attend counseling for a variety of concerns. The University Counseling Center does not have a limit on sessions in order to best serve the needs of the student, however our counselors will work with you to ensure you have the tools needed in order to feel confident in your ability to manage any presenting concerns.
To accommodate student demand for services, the University Counseling Center (UCC) will begin with at least biweekly sessions and skill building. In some circumstances, however, weekly sessions may be recommended. If you prefer to see a counselor weekly, the UCC will work with you to explore the best options for a referral in the community to meet your needs.
The UCC attempts to match clients with the therapist who has the most training and experience with that client's concerns. All information obtained in counseling is confidential and not released without the written consent of the student.
