Drake Programs Rank Among Best Graduate Schools by U.S. News & World Report

National survey ranks four Drake programs among the top programs in the U.S.

Drake University has been ranked among the top graduate schools in the nation according to the U.S. News & World Report 2025 Best Graduate Schools Rankings. The national survey ranked the University in four programs and more than 10 specialties in law, education, health and public affairs.

Drake’s College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences was recognized for two of its professional programs—Pharmacy (No. 49) and Occupational Therapy (No. 61)—while Drake University Law School was ranked No. 84 in the “Best Law Schools” list. This was the third year in a row that Drake University Law School ranked within the top 100 schools in the country.

One-hundred percent of Drake Law faculty have practiced law, and they bring that experience into the classroom.

According to the U.S. News ranking, Drake also received high marks in 13 other law program sections of the survey. The most notable were:

The Law School’s Legal Writing program ranked No. 17, up from No. 25 in 2023.
The Law School’s Clinical Training program ranked No. 60, up from No. 69 in 2023.

Drake’s School of Education also ranked among the top 35% in the “Best Education Schools” list.

Annually, U.S. News & World Report ranks more than 800 professional schools and programs in areas such as business, education, law, engineering, medicine and nursing. The Best Graduate Schools rankings are based on data from expert opinions on program excellence and statistics that measure the quality of a school’s faculty, research, students and post-graduate outcomes.

Last September, U.S. News & World Report also named Drake a top 200 school in the nation in their 2025 National University Rankings. This report also identified Drake as a standout school in Iowa with the highest projected graduation and the lowest student-to-faculty ratio of any Iowa school in the National University Rankings, as well as a top 100 school in the nation for “best value.”
