Dr. Christopher Porter, is an associate professor of computer science, Director of the Artificial Intelligence Program, and Co-Chair of the Math & Computer Science Department. Dr. Porter has been on the faculty at Drake since 2016. He received his Ph.D. in mathematics and philosophy from the University of Notre Dame in 2012 as part of the joint program in logic and the foundations of mathematics.
In addition, Dr. Porter received his undergraduate degree from Gonzaga University. Prior to coming to Drake, Dr. Porter was an NSF international postdoctoral fellow at Université Paris 7 from 2012 to 2014 and a postdoctoral associate at the University of Florida from 2014 to 2016.
Dr. Porter's research is in the areas of computability theory (specifically, algorithmic randomness) and the philosophy of mathematics.
